SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has completed the overhaul of the facility №305 at the refinery "Azneftyag," SOCAR infromed on Wednesday.
The setup allows refining oil to fuel oil on the first stage and processing og fuel oil to tar under vacuum conditions. The installation operated fine prior to overhaul, but due to the fact of it operating non-stop throughout the year and considering a need for replacement of some of the devices and equipment, it was decided to conduct the overhaul.
Oil products are produced at two Baku refineries with capacities of 16 million tons of oil a year. Both refineries belong to SOCAR, which annually processes approximately seven million tons of oil from onshore and offshore fields at its own expense.
Refinery Azneftyag is focused on the production of heavy oil products.
