Oil product consumption decreases in Azerbaijan

Some 1.14 million tonnes of oil products were delivered to Azerbaijan's domestic market in January-March 2014 which is 3.2 percent less than in January-March 2013, according to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report as of the first quarter of 2014.

Supplying black oil (77.6 percent) and liquefied gas (10.5 percent) to the domestic market increased in January-March, according to the report. A decrease in supplies was observed in other kinds of petroleum products.

Around 5.2 million tonnes of oil products were delivered to Azerbaijan's domestic market in 2013 compared to 4.8 million tonnes in 2012.

Over 1.55 million tonnes of Azerbaijani oil products were delivered to consumers including exports in January-March compared to 1.57 million tonnes in January-March 2013, according to the report.

Some 73.5 percent of the total volume of oil products was sold on the domestic market and the remaining 26.5 percent were sent for export.

Some 6.8 million tonnes of Azerbaijani oil products were delivered to consumers including exports in 2013 which is 3.9 percent more than in 2012.

Some 77.5 percent of the total volume of oil products was sold on the domestic market and the remaining 22.5 percent were sent for export.
