Azerbaijan’s gas output unchanged in 2015

Some 9.9 billion cubic meters of gas and 2.3 million tons of condensate (about 18.3 million barrels) were produced at the Azerbaijani gas and condensate field Shah Deniz in 2015, according to a BP report on operations in Azerbaijan in 2015.

In 2015, gas output stood at 9.9 billion cubic meters of gas and 2.3 million tons of condensate - the same as in 2014, according to the report.

The daily average gas output at the Shah Deniz was 29.5 million cubic meters (approximately 10 billion cubic meters a year).

The contract for development of the Shah Deniz offshore field, which has gas reserves of 1.2 trillion cubic meters, was signed in 1996.

The contract's shareholders are BP (operator, 28.8 percent), AzSD (10 percent), SGC Upstream (6.7 percent), Statoil (15.5 percent), Lukoil (10 percent), NIOC (10 percent) and TPAO (19 percent).
