Iran declares amount of investments to increase oil production

More than 6.2 billion euros will be invested to the contracts to maintain and increase oil production in Iran, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Masoud Karbasian said, Trend reports referring to the NIOC.

According to Karbasian, in 2016, 33 projects were developed for this purpose in Iran and scheduled to be implemented in three stages.

The deputy minister stressed that 29 of them are onshore, while four - offshore projects.

The CEO added that the funds provided for in the contracts will be provided at the expense of corporate securities.

On August 17, 13 contracts were signed between the National Iranian South oil Company, Iranian Offshore Oil Company and 14 Iranian contractor companies. With the implementation of these contracts worth 1.5 billion euros, Iran's oil production will increase by 185,000 barrels per day.
