New contracts signed to increase oil production in Iran

Thirteen contracts worth 1.527 billion euros were signed to maintain oil production and increase output by 185,000 barrels per day in Iran on August 17, Trend reports citing National Iranian Oil Company’s official website.

According to the report, the contracts were signed between the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) and 14 Iranian contractor companies. The fields under the ontracts are located in five provinces of Iran - Khuzestan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Bushehr, Hormozgan and Fars.

Of these contracts, 11 contracts were signed with the National Iranian South Oil Company and 2 contracts with IOOC.

“NISOC has signed two contracts with Global Petro Tech Kish on the Zilayi, Chilingar and Garangan fields and a contract with the Persia Oil and Gas Industry Development Company on the Ramin field,” the report said.

In addition, NISOC has signed a contract with PetroIran Development Company on Mansourabad field, a contractwith Pasargad Energy Development Company on Siyah Makan oil field, a contract with North Drilling Company on 1st and 4th phases of Marun oil field, a contract with Iranian E&P Negin Afagh Kish Energy Development Co. (TENCO) on phases 2, 5 and 6 of Marun field, and a contract with Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company on phase 3 of Marun field .

The NISOC also signed contract with National Iranian Drilling Company and Jahanpars Engineering and Construction Company for the work at Balarud oil field, and a contract with Qeshm Oil and Energy Industries Development Company covering Ahvaz field, the report added.

According to the company, IOOC has signed a contract with Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company on Resalat field and a contract with Mobin Saze Gostar Persian Gulf Company for work at Forouzan oil field.

In 2016, 33 projects were designed to maintain and increase oil production in Iran to be commissioned in three stages. Furthermore, 10 contracts were signed in 2019 and 13 contracts were signed on Aug. 17. As announced, 10 contracts will be signed by the end of current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 21, 2021).

As many as 165 new wells will be drilled and 71 wells will be repaired on the basis of 23 contracts signed so far to increase the total volume of oil production in the country by 280,000 barrels per day.
