Iran’s Bandar Abbas TPP increases electricity generation

Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant’s electricity generation in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 6 percent, during about the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21, through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, deputy head of the Bandar Abbas TPP Mehdi Moradi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Moradi, the power plant has generated more than 4.42 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity within the mentioned period.

He also added that of this volume, 4.27 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by steam units and about 152 million kilowatt-hours by gas units.

The official stressed that Iran's Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant is the largest power plant in southern Iran with 4 steam and 2 gas units and plays a key role in supplying electricity to the Hormozgan Province

The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation potential of this power plant is 1,330 megawatts. The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt-hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
