Electricity generation booming at Iran’s biggest thermal power plant

The electricity generation of the Ramin Thermal Power Plant in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 9 percent in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Executive Director of Ramin TPP, Khalil Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Mohammadi, the Ramin TPP generated more than 743,000 megawatt-hours of electricity in the 10th month.

The director also added that the Ramin TPP generated an average of 222 megawatt-hours of electricity in the 10th month.

Iran's Ramin Thermal Power Plant is considered the largest TPP in Iran. This thermal power plant has 6 steam units each capacity of 315 megawatts.

Mohammadi emphasized that at present, unit No. 3 of the power plant is under overhauls, while the remaining 5 units continue to generate electricity.
