BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. Iran is expected to launch new renewable energy power plants with a capacity to generate 4,000 megawatt-hours of electricity, during the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Iranian Deputy Energy Minister and the Chairman of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization of Iran, Mahmoud Kamani said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

He made the remark at the event dedicated to the launch of operations on the installation of new solar panels in Sistan and Baluchistan Province on August 27, 2022.

The deputy minister noted that a total of 110,000 new solar panels are planned to be installed in the country this year.

“Of this, 10,000 solar panels are to be installed in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan Province. The total power generation capacity of the mentioned power plants will be 325 megawatt-hours. In this regard, 250 million euro will be spent in the province,” he added.

According to Kamani, Iran's Energy Ministry, the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC), and Jihad of Construction Organization will cooperate in the construction of new power plants.
