BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Kazakhstan plans to build a wind power plant (WPP) in its capital at the expense of foreign private investments, Trend reports Kazakh media.
This issues is being worked out jointly with the representatives of ENI ('Arm Wind' LLP) Italian oil and gas company and the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
According to the mayor of Kazakhstan's capital Astana Altay Kulginov, the amount of attracted foreign private investment is almost 50 billion tenge ($102.9 million).
A feasibility study is currently being developed.
At the first stage, as Kulginov specified, the capacity of the WPP will be 50 MW with a further possibility of increasing to more than 100 MW. This project in the field of renewable energy sources will create an additional significant amount of electricity.
