BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 24. Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated over 4.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP, Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

“Of the mentioned volume, about 4.35 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by steam units, while 57.9 million kilowatt-hours - by gas units,” Mahmoudi said.

He added that the power plant generated more than 339 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the 9th month (November 22 through December 21, 2022) alone.

According to the official, currently, the repair work is near completion in the 1st steam unit of the station. At the same time, repairs have started on the 4th steam unit.

The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours. The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
