Iran’s SPGC publishes data on annual natural gas production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) produced 221 billion cubic meters of natural gas, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Executive Director of the SPGC, Ahmad Bahush said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

“In other words, on average, the company produced more than 570 million cubic meters of gas daily within the last Iranian year,” the director noted.

Bahush added that about 191 billion cubic meters of sweet gas were supplied to the country's gas network for the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

According to him, the company's gas production is expected to increase in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).

Iran’s South Pars Gas Company processes rich gas extracted from the South Pars gas field.

The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
