BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. The 10th Refinery of Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) produced more than 17 million barrels of gas condensate, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Head of the 10th Refinery, Mohammad Nemati said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to Nemati, the 10th refinery also produced over 237,000 tons of ethane and 357,000 tons of propane within the last Iranian year.
“Furthermore, 318,000 tons of butane and 80,000 tons of sulfur were produced by the mentioned refinery for the reporting period,” the official added.
The 10th refinery of Iran’s South Pars Gas Company process rich gas extracted from 19th phase of South Pars gas field. The refinery has the capacity to produce 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas, 77,000 barrels of gas condensate, 2,400 tons of ethane, 1,800 tons of propane, 1,100 tons of butane, and 320 tons of sulfur per day.
Meanwhile, the South Pars Gas Company produced more than 165 billion cubic meters of gas in the last Iranian year.
The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
