BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. The 1st refinery of Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) produced more than 8.7 billion cubic meters of sweet gas for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the head of the 1st Refinery, Hossein Hamzavi said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to him, the produced sweet gas was fully supplied to the country's gas network.
Hamzavi added that the mentioned refinery also produced approximately 8.22 million barrels of gas condensate over the last year.
“Along with these, about 35,000 tons of sulfur were produced by the 1st refinery during the reporting period,” the official said.
In total, Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) produced 221 billion cubic meters of natural gas, as well as more than 252 million barrels of gas condensate and 527,000 tons of sulfur within the last Iranian year.

The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
