BP clarified plans of Ceyhan oil terminal opening plans

The official ceremony of opening of the Turkish section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline route and the Ceyhan terminal is scheduled for the spring of 2006 after the oil is delivered to this port and loaded in the first tanker, the BP (the operator of the BTC Co pipeline company) official spokesman told Trend.

According to BP spokesman, the Azerbaijan oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli (ACG) reached on 18 November through the oil pipeline the first pumping station in Turkey (Posof town) via Georgia. 4 million barrels of technical oil have been pumped into the pipeline from the needed 10 million barrels.

В"The BTC pipeline is a complicated engineering construction. Much time will be required for its testing and start-up and adjustment works, BP specified.

The Turkish part of the pipeline (1070 РєРј.) is longer of the two other combined вЂ" in Azerbaijan and Georgia.
