SOCAR to commission 4 new oil wells on new platform in early 2006

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends to commission 4 nbew oil wells from stationary platform 18-87, installed on the offshore Neft Dashlari field, in early 2006, SOCAR told Trend.

The construction delays due to low-quality supply, but the first stage of stationary platform 18-87 will be over in early 2006, which will allow the Company to commission 4 new oil fields in early 2004.

4 of the planned 36 wells have been drilled from platform 18-87. SOCAR intends to start drilling of the 5th advance well till late 2005. The wells are planned to give over 120 tons oil per day.

The construction of the platform will allow SOCAR to increase oil production on the NEft Dashlari field from 2,300 tons to 2,450 tons per day. The construction of the platform is supposed to comprise $30m.
