From January through October 2019, Azerbaijan’s National Depository Center registered 3,892 stock and 539 over-the-counter transactions, Trend reports referring to statistical data of the center Nov. 28.
At the primary stock exchange securities market, 1,342 transactions were concluded for a total of 9.5 billion manat ($5.6 billion). This is while 2,550 transactions were concluded in the secondary exchange market, for a total of 1.4 billion manat ($841,119).
In percentage terms, the primary exchange market accounted for 34.5 percent of transactions and 87 percent of money volume. The secondary exchange market accounted for 65.5 percent of transactions and 13 percent of money volume.
As many as 332 transactions for a total of 1.5 billion manat ($915,412) were concluded in the primary over-the-counter securities market. In the secondary over-the-counter market, 207 transactions were concluded for a total of 199.9 million manat ($117.8 million).
In percentage relation, the primary over-the-counter market accounted for 61.6 percent of transactions and 88.6 percent of money volume. The secondary over-the-counter market accounted for 38.4 percent of transactions and less than 11.5 percent of the money volume.
In total, 1,674 transactions registered by Azerbaijan’s National Depository Center in the total value of 11.1 billion manat ($6.5 billion) were concluded in the primary market. A total of 2,757 transactions registered by Azerbaijan’s National Depository Center in the total value of 1.6 billion manat ($955,500) were concluded in the secondary market.
