Compared to the same period of 2019, their number increased by 20.6 percent.

The share of active enterprises and organizations providing services in the health sector, as well as social services, made up three percent.

In their overall structure, trade services accounted for 34.9 percent, accommodation and meals for 9.3 percent, transportation and storage for 6.1 percent, information and communications for 3.2 percent, health care and social services for 3.1 percent and other services for 43.4 percent.

According to preliminary data, the volume of rendered market services in January 2020 reached 16,272.5 billion soum ($1.7 billion), and the nominal volume increased by 2,821.7 billion soum ($294.9 million).

In a comparable equivalent, the growth rate made up 111.6 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

Currently, the country is undertaking consistent reforms to enhance the region's financial potential and the role of the services sector in this area. The projects under the Strategy for Action on the five priority development areas in 2017-2021 aim to expand the scope of this work.

The share of Tashkent city in the total volume of services is the highest standing at 33.7 percent. This is due to the fact that real incomes are higher here than in other regions.

The highest share is recorded in Tashkent (7.5 percent), Samarkand (6.5 percent), Ferghana (5.9 percent) and Andijan (5.1 percent) provinces.

In the period under review, Tashkent city had a major impact on the increase in the total volume of provided market services.
