Most of the settlements in Azerbaijan's trade turnover were made through freely convertible currency (FCC) from January through April 2021, Trend reports citing the report of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC).

According to the SCC, settlements in the FCC on export operations have amounted to $3.36 billion, or 52.76 percent of all types of export settlements, which is a growth of 1.8 percent on annual basis.

Meanwhile, calculations in the FCC on import transactions for the reporting period amounted to $2.9 billion, or 82.59 percent of all types of import payments, and thereby annually growing by 1.6 percent, the SCC said.

“Reportedly, closed currency settlement operations in Azerbaijan's exports made up $6.1 million, dropping by 7 percent over the year. In imports, this figure amounted to $255.9 million, an increase of 6 percent over the year,” the SCC report added.

“Other export transactions amounted to about $3 billion, which indicates an increase in annual circulation of 0.3 percent. The share of other export transactions amounted to 47.04 percent of all types of settlements. For import operations in this category, there is an increase of 29.8 percent - up to $347.6 million. The share of such transactions in all types of import settlements is 9.85 percent,” the report reads.

In the structure of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover for the first 4 months of 2021, exports accounted for $6.36 billion, and imports - $3.53 billion.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis decreased by 3 percent, but remained positive, amounting to $2.83 billion.
