Cost of cargo transported via trains up in Azerbaijan

The cost of goods transported via trains exceeded $2.5 billion in Azerbaijan from January through October 2021, which is by 18.5 percent or about $390 million more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Some 5.7 billion tons of cargo were transported via air from January through October 2021, which is by 3.31 percent or 195 million tons less than from January through October 2020.

The export of goods via air increased by 42.89 percent or 7.07 million tons and exceeded 50.7 million tons. The export value exceeded $230.3 million (an increase of 8.41 percent or $17.9 million).

Over 3.1 billion tons accounted for import (a decrease of 23.8 percent or 971 million tons) worth more than $1.6 billion (a decrease of 7.13 percent or $124 million).

Azerbaijan's trade turnover exceeded $26.1 billion, including export - $16.8 billion, imports - $9.3 billion during the reporting period.
