Azerbaijan reveals volume of money supply for January 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 23

The Money Supply Rate (М2) in Azerbaijan rose in January 2022, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of the country (CBA).

According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 23.1 billion manat ($13.6 billion), up by over 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion) or 18.6 percent compared to January 2021 (19.48 billion manat or $11.46 billion).

In the first month of this year, the cash money supply in circulation (M0) decreased over the year by 45 million manat ($26.4 million) or 0.5 percent - from 10.3 billion manat or $6.06 billion (recorded in last year’s January) to 10.2 billion manat ($6 billion).

Meanwhile, the expanded money supply (M3) declined by 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 billion) or 23.2 percent, to 34.64 billion manat ($20.38 billion) against 28.1 billion manat ($16.5 billion) a year earlier.

At the same time, the money supply for transactions (M1) for the year increased by 2.8 billion manat ($1.6 billion) or 16.6 percent - from 16.9 billion manat ($9.9 billion) to 19.7 billion manat ($11.6 billion).
