BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. The number of transactions through the system of interbank national settlements in Azerbaijan amounted to 20.8 billion manat ($12.2 billion) as of May 1, 2022, which is 48.3 percent more than the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the statistical report of Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to CBA, total of 112,100 settlement transactions were carried out through this system.

A total of 6.4 million transactions were carried out in the amount of 3.4 billion manat ($2 billion), through the clearing and settlement system on small payments, which is 19.4 percent more year-on-year.

Banks' receipts through high-speed money transfer systems amounted to 575.3 million manat ($338.4 million) at the beginning of May 2022, which is 3.5 times higher than the same period last year.

A total of 56,200 transactions in the amount of 57.5 million manat ($33.8 million) were carried out on non-bank money transfers.

The turnover on payment cards through ATMs and POS terminals in Azerbaijan increased over the year by 1.4 billion manat ($823.5 million) from January through April 2022, or 54.8 percent - from 2.7 billion manat ($1.5 billion) to 4.1 billion manat ($2.4 billion).
