BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 8. Tax revenues in Iran increased by 63 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, an official of Iranian National Tax Administration (INTA), Mehdi Movahhedi told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Movahhedi, in total, Iran received taxes worth about 2.71 quadrillion rials (about $64.5 billion) in 7 months.

“Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at about 1.67 quadrillion rials (about $39.7 billion),” he added.

The official said that tax revenues from legal entities for the reporting period amounted to 1.13 quadrillion rials (about $26.8 billion), which is an increase of 88 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure was 599 trillion rials (about $14.3 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

“In 7 months, income taxes in the country amounted to 470 trillion rials (about $11 billion), which is an increase of 48 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure stood at 314 trillion rials (about $7.49 billion) in the same period last Iranian year,” Movahhedi noted.

As for wealth taxes in Iran for 7 months, the official pointed out that the figure amounted to 97.5 trillion rials (about $2.32 billion), which is an increase of 25 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Movahhedi also pointed out that tax revenues from products and services in the country amounted to about 1.02 quadrillion rials (about $24.2 billion), which is an increase of 51 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, this figure was 675 trillion rials (about $16 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
