BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The amount of loans provided by Iranian banks to local start-up companies in the country increased by 105 percent in value during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), 1,562 local start-up companies in the country were issued loans worth approximately 569 trillion rials (about $13.5 billion dollars) for 4 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period of the last Iranian year, 1,715 start-up companies were given loans worth approximately 277 trillion rials (about $6.59 billion).
In the 4th month of the current Iranian year alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iranian banks lent 177 trillion rials (about $4.21 billion) to 880 local start-up companies. This is an increase of 153 percent in the amount of loans and 40.5 percent in the number of companies compared to the same month of the last Iranian year.
So, 69.6 trillion rials (about $1.66 billion) of loans were issued to 626 local start-ups in the country for the 4th month of the last Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2022).
