Iranian banks boost lending to local start-up companies in various fields

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. The amount of loans provided by Iranian banks to local start-up companies in the country increased by 261 percent, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

According to the report of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), Iranian banks lent approximately 772 trillion rials (about $18.4 billion) to local start-up companies in 5 months.

The mentioned amount of loans was issued to 1,562 local start-up companies in the country.

In the 5th month alone (July 23 through August 22, 2023), 708 local start-up companies were provided with loans worth approximately 184 trillion rials (about $4.37 billion), which is an increase of 75.2 percent in value compared to the same month the previous Iranian year.

The Iranian government is focusing on providing loans to start-up companies in various fields, including energy, agriculture and industry, in order to benefit more from their potential.
