"Republic Olympiad on Informatics between university students" was held on May 18 to celebrate International Telecommunications and Information Society Day, a report released by mobile operator Azercell Telecom says.

48 teams of 13 universities took part in the country-wide Olympiad organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies, Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Education, and the Information Technologies Institute of Azerbaijan Republic Academy of Sciences.

Azercell Telecom presented valuable gifts to four best performing teams of the competition.
Azercell Telecom pays a special attention to projects for students. It has been already several years that the Student Bursary Program provides support to more than 100 students during their university study. Barama Innovation Center has been implementing different ICT related projects and launching new initiatives for already three years.

Azercell Telecom spent 1.6 million AZN for the social projects in 2012, while for the last 16 years this amount has reached 13.2 million AZN. Since year 2013 was announced the year of ICT, Azercell will keep focusing on social projects like this.
