Huge funds are required to eliminate the problems with the automatic switching of Sim-cards of subscribers of Azerbaijani mobile operators to the network of operators of neighboring countries, a source in the Azerbaijani telecommunications market told Trend.

According to the source, first of all, the cells should be reduced to outline the scope of coverage.

"The operator should greatly increase the number of base stations in the border areas, which means an increase in expenses for their purchase,” the source said. “In case of low quality of the signal of the local cellular network and the high quality of the coverage of the foreign operator's network, the subscriber's device will automatically connect to the network ensuring more reliable communication.”

At present, operators recommend their subscribers living in border areas to switch off the roaming service to avoid accidental overcharges for communication services.
