Azerbaijan sees increase in mobile Internet traffic speed

The speed of incoming Internet traffic in the networks of mobile operators in Azerbaijan, according to the rating of Speedtest Global Index of "Ookla", hit 19.82 megabits / second in November 2017, according to the company's report.

The speed of outgoing traffic in mobile networks of Azerbaijan was 8.5 megabits / second.

In November, the global average rate of incoming and outgoing mobile traffic was 20.28 and 8.65 megabits per second, respectively. Azerbaijan is ranked 60th in the world in terms of speed of the mobile Internet. The top three countries in terms of mobile Internet speed are Norway (62.66 megabits per second), the Netherlands (53.01 megabits per second) and Iceland (52.78 megabits per second).

According to the rating, the speed of incoming fixed broadband Internet traffic in Azerbaijan in November was 10.81 megabits per second, and the outgoing - 10.27 megabits per second.

The global average rate of incoming and outgoing fixed Internet traffic was 40.11 and 19.96 megabits per second, respectively. Azerbaijan is ranked 102nd in the world over the fixed broadband speed.

The fastest fixed broadband speed in the world was recorded in Singapore, with a rate of 153.85 megabits per second, followed by Iceland (147.51 megabits per second) and Hong Kong (133.94 megabits per second).
