BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20. The average download speeds for mobile and broadband internet access in Azerbaijan in April 2022 increased, Trend reports referring to Ookla’s Open Data.

According to Ookla, this figure for mobile internet access amounted to 32.52 Mbps (up by 6.97 percent compared to March) and for broadband internet access – 20.28 Mbps (a growth of 1.76 percent).

Besides, in April this year, the mobile data download rate rose by 2.12 Mbps compared to the previous month. The outgoing internet speed via the mobile network was 10.14 Mbps, which is 10.14 percent more than in March.

The download speed of data on fixed broadband internet access grew by 0.35 Mbps in monthly terms, and the outgoing speed reached 21.9 Mbps (an increase of 0.74 Mbps, or 3.5 percent).

The average speed of incoming and outgoing downloads over the mobile network in the world in April totaled 30.75 and 8.78 Mbps, respectively.

According to Ookla, in the reporting month, Azerbaijan ranked 57th among 142 countries in terms of data download speed via mobile internet and 118th among 181 countries in terms of data transfer speed over broadband internet access.
