BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 16. This week it became known that Azerbaijani companies are working on implementing Endpoint Detection and Response solutions to be able to quickly prevent a cyber attack, Trend reports.
It was noted that if a few years ago, Kaspersky Lab's Kaspersky Security Network detected a small number of different types of viruses in a few days, then at present about 400,000 new cyber threats are detected daily.
The company also noted that today's reality requires more complex solutions that can cope with more complicated attacks. And Kaspersky, by implementing solutions for detecting and isolating attacks, aims to provide a quick response and stop the attack.
Moreover, Kaspersky Lab predicts the continued relevance and global growth of cyber attacks in 2023. Due to the rapid development of digital solutions and online payments, both in Azerbaijan and in the world as a whole, a growth of cyber attacks and fraud is anticipated. At the same time, the company blocked about a million clicks on phishing sites in Azerbaijan: most, which is 60 percent, came from home users, while 40 percent were from corporate users.
Furthermore, Enterprise Azerbaijan is implementing five new projects that are going to contribute to development of Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector and as small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It was noted that in 2022, the number of innovative projects submitted to the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal was 59, of which 38 were startups and 10 were ideas. Out of the total number of projects, 48 were selected and placed on the portal. Two international agreements were also reached on cooperation in the oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan, as well as small and medium-sized businesses.
Moreover, it was noted that the Enterprise Azerbaijan is working to bring national startups to international markets. It was mentioned the startups should adapt flexibly to market requirements, be competitive in the market, and be open to all kinds of innovation and change.
The company noted that for modern startups, especially startups in the field of technology, the era of dependence on local markets and development only in the conditions of the local market is over.
According to statistics, more than 80 percent of technology startups become participants in the international market from the moment they are founded. Therefore, serious work needs to be done so that national startups come out and were introduced to the international market, which the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal provides to young startups.
Moreover, it became known that the projects registered on the state portal of Enterprise Azerbaijan encompass the sectors of education, health, social area and other areas. About 67.4 percent of registered projects belong to young people aged 15-25 years. Among the 33 projects selected by experts in 12 nominations, there are 7 projects from Türkiye, as well as the projects from the US, Germany and Ireland.
In addition, it became known that Azerbaijan is working on the formation of national cloud technologies. It was reported that in order to avoid problems with foreign servers, Azerbaijan prefers cloud technologies hosted inside the country. Thus, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and other public and private organizations have already started creating cloud solutions as well as a government cloud.
Moreover, it was noted this week that the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from Armenian occupation, have been covered by the AzStateNet network (online domestic network of central, local state authorities).
