BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. Below is a summary of key events in Azerbaijan's ICT sector that took place last week.
- Visa is ready for the emergence of new payment solutions in Azerbaijan and is open to cooperation with new partners. Visa is actively developing innovations. For example, at the beginning of 2023 in Germany, it launched the Mercedes Pay solution, through which it is possible to make payments at fuel filling stations or stations for charging cars with electricity. This solution is based on Visa Token Service technology. It is expected that such a solution will be launched in other countries, including Azerbaijan.
Visa provides security from numerous cyberattacks every day and continues to invest in network security. Visa continues to attach great importance to this. Various sectors of the economy remain vulnerable to such cyber threats as social engineering.
Thousands of entrepreneurs of various levels, both micro and small and medium-sized, are connected to the TapToPhone project launched by Visa in Azerbaijan in 2022. The TapToPhone project is presented in Azerbaijan on the basis of mobile devices with Android OS. iOS versions have been launched in the US and Taiwan. Four Azerbaijani banks use TapToPhone: the International Bank of Azerbaijan, Kapital Bank, Bank Respublika and Rabitabank.
- Last week it was also revealed that Visa and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan are discussing the integration of the digital manat into the Visa network.
