Communications Ministry plans to apply CDMA technology in some regions

The Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry plans to apply CDMA technology (Code Division Multiple Access) in some regions of the country, the Ministry told Trend . In 2006 these services are planned to be applied in telecommunications hubs in Ganja, Shamakhy and Ganja through installation of appropriate equipment in the regions.

CDMA services are rendered by two state enterprises Aztelekom Production Association (PA) and Baku Telephone Communications (PA) at the same.

At present the number of the subscribers of CDMA at the Baku Telephone Communications PA comprises 700.

Baku Telephone Communications PA renders CDMA services on numbers with index 511, Aztelekom PA - 408. The capacity of telephone numbers on the both indexes makes up 10,000.
