Is the Samsung SLIQ Another iPhone Clone?

( Mobilemag ) - It seems like everyone wants a piece of the touch-sensitive pie. The Samsung SLIQ bears a striking resemblance to the LG Prada Phone, which we all know competes directly against the upcoming Apple iPhone. In all fairness, the glossy black handset was not created by Samsung themselves, but is rather the fruits of designer Mike Serafin's labor.

Like so many Samsung products before it, you get a glossy black exterior and a fairly minimalist approach in terms of number of buttons and switches. Instead, you get a 2.0 megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens, an ultra thin profile of just 10mm, and a "sexy disappearing LCD screen." Perhaps even more interestingly, the Samsung SLIQ is taking a page out of the OLPC by adding in a hand crank "for when the battery runs out."

The SLIQ is just a concept and one that has not been officially endorsed by Samsung, so don't expect to find this in stores anytime soon.
