Regional Commonwealth in Communications Backs Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Azerbaijan's candidacy for a leading position in the World Radio Communications Conference to be held in Geneva in October was backed up on 28 May within the framework of the 37th meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Regional Commonwealth in Communications (RCC) Administrations.

According to the Russian Ministry of IT and Communications, apart from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine were also backed for the positions

Other regional organizations will be informed of RCC's position on the agenda of the World Conference on Radio Communications and mutual consultations of the RCC Communications Administrations delegations will be continued.

The World Radio Communications Conference is important for Azerbaijan as the project to launch the AzerStar Azerbaijani national communications satellite will be discussed during the event. The Azerbaijani delegation headed by the Minister for Communications and IT, Ali Abbasov, participated in the meeting of the RCC in Yurmala.

The next 38th meeting of the RCC Council has been scheduled for Astana, Kazakhstan at the end of November.

According to the Azerbaijani Communications Ministry, the visit of the delegation will last until 30 May. The Azerbaijani-Latvian business forum on IT initiated by the Latvian Minister on E-Government, Ina Gudele, exclusively for the Azerbaijani delegation will be held within the framework of the visit.
