Turkmenistan’s Balkan Shipbuilding yard reveals number of repaired ships

Since the commissioning of the Balkan Shipbuilding and repairing yard in Turkmenistan, 24 vessels have been repaired, 7 more vessels have been repaired of medium complexity, and 23 vessels have undergone inter-ship repairs, Trend reports with reference to "Zolotoy Vek” (Golden age) newspaper.

The Balkan plant has installed a system for launching and repairing vessels with a capacity of 10,000 tons a year, and has created opportunities for the production of oil tankers, offshore platforms, tugs, boats, as well as various types of steel structures, equipment and tools for the industrial sectors.

The plant has created sections for assembling large-sized blocks, for abrasive cleaning and painting ship hulls, installed a robotic system for transporting profiles processed by plasma cutting, as well as turbo machines.

Since May of last year, the Balkan Shipbuilding and repairing yard has been operating as an independent enterprise. In the future, it is planned to build vessels for the merchant fleet of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the seven-year program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan, it is planned to build 12 vessels by 2025.
