The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad and Neka ports of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 27 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to Sept. 15, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the report, a total of 1.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in these ports within the mentioned period.
The loaded and unloaded good in the two ports were mainly construction materials, wire, iron and steel products, petroleum products, petrochemicals and agricultural products. The agricultural products were mainly barley, wheat, corn and cooking oil.
As reported, Iran’s Amirabad port covers an area of 1,060 hectares. The port can receive 7.5 million tons of cargo a year.
Iran’s Neka port is located near the platform of the Iran Marine Industrial Company (SADRA). This port is mostly used for transportation of crude oil and oil products.
