Iran records increase in cargo movements at Khorramshahr port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by about 2.6 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2021), compared to the 7th month (September 23 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 314,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the eighth month. Of this, about 294,000 tons were loaded and 20,000 tons were unloaded.

“Meanwhile, 293,000 tons of cargo were exported and 19,400 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.

Also, 45 tons of cargo were loaded and 217 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 616 tons of cargo were loaded and 331 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the same time period.

According to the statistics, 6,020 tons of essential products, 14,700 tons of metal products, 272,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,600 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 3,830 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 15 tons of small and assorted goods, 13,300 tons of container products and 40 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.1 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the eighth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.7 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 13.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
