Iran discloses volume of cargo loaded/unloaded at western ports of Hormozgan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. More than 5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the western ports of Iran’s Hormozgan Province in the south of the country since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023), Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari said, Trend reports.

Salari noted that of the mentioned volume, over 2.42 million tons accounted for non-oil products, while about 2.58 million tons for crude oil and related products,” he added.

“In total, 3.07 million tons of oil and non-oil products were exported through the western ports of Hormozgan Province for the reporting period. About 1.48 million tons of exported goods were non-oil products, while 1.59 million tons were crude oil and petroleum products,” he added.

According to the director, 66,904 TEU containers with a capacity of 699,000 tons were loaded and unloaded in the western ports of Hormozgan Province for the reporting period. This is 28 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.

In general, there are 10 ports operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan province. Among these ports, Bandar Lengeh, Charak, Siri and Lavan ports are more active.
