BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Assets of Kazakhstan's banking sector amounted to 45 trillion Kazakh tenge ($99 billion) as of April 1, 2023, Trend reports via Kazakhstan's Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market.
According to the agency, this figure increased by 2.2 percent or 967 billion tenge ($2.1 billion) in March of this year.
Highly liquid assets amounted to 13.6 trillion Kazakh tenge ($30.1 billion) or 30.1 percent of assets, which allows banks to fulfill their obligations to customers.
Furthermore, according to the agency, the banks' equity increased by 1.2 percent to 5.7 trillion Kazakh tenge or $12.6 million in March 2023 (an increase of 8.7 percent since the beginning of 2023).
The liabilities of the banking sector in March 2023 increased by 2.3 percent to 39.3 trillion Kazakh tenge ($87.1 billion). Since the beginning of this year, banks' liabilities have increased slightly by 0.03 percent.
