BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Lithuania is one of Kazakhstan's ten largest trading partners among the EU countries, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Vassilenko said, Trend reports.

He made the remark at the meeting with Vice Foreign Minister of Lithuania Mantas Adomėnas during the Kazakh-Lithuanian political consultations.

The Lithuanian vice minister, on the other hand, highlighted that Kazakhstan ranks among the top twenty trading partners of Lithuania globally.

In 2022, the trade turnover between the countries increased by 28.7 percent and amounted to $584.3 million. It was noted that in addition to the mutual supplies of energy, industrial, and agricultural products, the countries are also implementing investment projects.

Both sides highly appreciated the valuable contribution of Lithuania's nine honorary consuls in Kazakhstan to trade and investment cooperation. The consular network is expected to expand with the appointment of four additional honorary consuls in the near future.

Likewise, the three honorary consuls of Kazakhstan in Lithuania were recognized for their important role in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting trade.

Earlier this year it was noted that the countries are working on launching direct air flights in order to boost tourism cooperation. Moreover, the matter of visa-free travel to Lithuania for Kazakh nationals is also one of the priorities in the cooperation agenda between the two countries.
