BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. The operations of the oil pumping stations (OPS) of Kazakhstan's KazTransOil national company in the Atyrau and Mangistau regions, which were temporarily halted due to a power outage, have been fully restored, KazTransOil told Trend.
As noted by the company, the operations were resumed following the stabilization of the electricity supply by Kazakhstan's power transmission organization. Transportation of oil through the main oil pipeline system of KazTransOil is now being carried out as planned.
KazTransOil confirms its technical capability to transport oil in full accordance with the oil delivery schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, the actual volumes of oil transportation depend on the requests from oil companies.
On July 3, 2023, a disruption in the power supply occurred at the thermal power plant of Kazakhstan's Mangystau Nuclear Power Plant (MAEK LLP), which led to instability and disturbances in the power system of western Kazakhstan with massive power outages in the region. Because of this outrage, several oil companies in Kazakhstan, such as subsidiaries of KazMunayGas national company and oil pumping stations of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and KazTransOil faced difficulties and were forced to halt operations.
