ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 25. Kazakhstan calls for a comprehensive assessment of funding options, urging the country's Ministry of National Economy, relevant state entities, and regional authorities to actively pursue private investments for rural development, Trend reports.
This was stated by Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov during a recent government meeting held for the discussion of rural development.
As noted by the country's Minister of National Economy, Alibek Kuantyrov, out of 6,295 rural settlements, 3,500 villages, accommodating over 90 percent of the rural population, have been prioritized for development under the "Auyl - Yel Besigi" development project. This year, the project has been allocated 198.2 billion Kazakh tenge ($443.3 million) from the republican budget.
Speaking further, Smailov emphasized that between 2019 and 2022, more than 3,700 projects focusing on social and engineering infrastructure were successfully implemented in over 1,000 villages, resulting in the creation of approximately 33,000 job opportunities. For the current year, the plan is to execute 2,000 projects in 800 populated areas.
It was also noted that the "Auyl - Yel Besigi" project is a vital instrument for modernizing rural infrastructure as part of the Rural Territory Development Concept until 2027. Alikhan Smailov further highlighted the importance of ensuring the timely and high-quality implementation of all "Auyl - Yel Besigi" projects.
