BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. The annual inflation rate in Tajikistan reached 4.5 percent in February 2023 increasing over 4.3 percent in the previous month, Trend reports with reference to the weekly economic review of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

“The food prices increased by 0.8 percent and the prices for non-food products by 0.1 percent compared to January 2023, while the average prices for services remained unchanged,” the report said.

As the bank noted, the reduction of global prices for energy resources acted as a restricting factor for the non-food products and services price increase.

Meanwhile, the EDB experts expect a temporary slowdown in the annual inflation rate in Tajikistan in March this year.

According to the EDB forecast, the annual inflation in Tajikistan is expected to set at 6 percent at the end of 2023.

The Eurasian Development Bank is an international financial institution founded in 2006 and headquartered in Kazakhstan’s Almaty city. The bank carries out investment activities aimed at developing economies, as well as trade and economic relations in its member states.
