An earthquake occurred in the Ferghana Valley today where strong tremors led to human casualties and destruction, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the Tashkent seismic station, an earthquake measuring 3.7 occurred at 11:29 am local time.

The epicenter was located on the territory of Uzbekistan, 33kilometers west of Margilan at a depth of 16 kilometers

An earthquake occurred on the territory of the republic on July 20 at 00:35 local time.

The epicenter was at 235 kilometers south - east of Tashkent, in the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The magnitude of the tremors was 7.0.

The most affected region is Fergana.

Some residential buildings were damaged during the earthquake in Rishtan, Baghdad and Ferghana regions.
