The earthquake that occurred in Uzbekistan on Saturday night at 3.18 caused no casualties or damage, Ministry of Emergency Situations told Trend.

"No information on casualties or damage was reported by 8.00," a spokesman for the ministry said.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the epicenter of the earthquake of 5.5 points magnitude located in 32 kilometers from Tashkent, seven kilometers from the city Toytepa (Tashkent province).

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was in 9 kilometers from the town of Buka (Tashkent region). The epicenter was at the depth of 10 kilometers.

The force of tremors was 4.5 points in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 3 points in Olmaliq, and 2 points in Samarqand. The tremors were also felt in other regions.

In Tashkent, the tremors were accompanied by a rumble, dishes and books were felling from shelves in houses, car alarms turned on, little cracks appeared in some apartments and houses, and frightened people took to the streets.

Tremors with a similar magnitude were felt in Tashkent in February, this year. In the epicenter of the earthquake located in about 20 kilometers west of Tashkent at a depth of 30 kilometers, the strength of the tremors of the earthquake was 4.8 on the Richter scale.
