Uzbekistan plans to extend the VAT exemption for meat, vegetable oil and a number of other products until April 30, 2022, Trend reports citing Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan Doniyor Ganiyev’s official telegram account.

Previously, the legislative chamber of Uzbekistan adopted a bill for the import and sale of meat products to the country to be exempt from VAT until the end of the year. The main goal of this bill is to reduce the cost of meat products in Uzbekistan.

The document proposed to exempt from VAT the import and sale of meat products, animals, as well as potatoes, and frozen fish from October 10 to December 31 on the territory of Uzbekistan.

In addition, from May 1 to December 31, a VAT exemption was applied for the import, production and sale of vegetable oil.
