BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Uzbekistan and Mongolia have signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission to boost multifaceted Uzbek-Mongolian cooperation, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.

The agreement was signed at the recent meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, and Batmunkh Battsetseg Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

During the meeting, the sides also agreed to implement a joint program for the development of industrial cooperation, including specific project proposals in the fields of agriculture, light, and electrical industries.

Throughout negotiations, the parties emphasized the importance of creating the Uzbek-Mongolian Business Council, as well as noted growth dynamics in the mutual trade turnover, which has tripled in recent years.

Meanwhile, in 2022, the trade turnover of agricultural and food products between Uzbekistan and Mongolia amounted to $5.5 million. At the same time, Uzbeskistan’s exports of goods and services in 2021 amounted to $2.4 million, while imports – were $97,700.
