Uzbekistan fosters electricity supply to Mubarek TPP via solar panels

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. Uzbekistan has installed solar panels with a total capacity of 1.2 MW on the territory of the Mubarek thermal power plant (TPP), Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.

According to the ministry, the panels will generate an additional 2 million kWh of electricity per year, and save 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

The country’s authorities pay special attention to boosting renewables deployment countrywide. In this regard, the number of solar panels installed on buildings and structures of social facilities and economic entities will be expanded.

The abovementioned measures are taken within the framework of the Uzbek President's "On measures to accelerate the introduction of renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies in 2023" Resolution.

Recently, Uzbekistan installed solar panels with a total capacity of 1 MW on the territory of the Navoi TPP. The newly installed panels will generate an additional 1.8 million kWh of electricity per year. As a result, 400,000 cubic meters of natural gas will be saved.
