BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. Uzbekneftegaz will install additional solar panels with a capacity of 600 kW on the territory of the Mubarek gas processing plant (the company's subsidiary), Trend reports via Uzbekneftegaz.

The company expects that the panels will save about 1.6 million kWh of electricity per year.

Currently, Uzbekneftegaz has installed solar panels with a total capacity of 50 kW and solar water heaters with a volume of 200 liters in the amount of 5 on the rooftop of one of the facilities adjacent to the Mubarek plant.

The abovementioned measures are taken within the framework of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s order to reduce the dependence of economic sectors on fuel and energy products by increasing energy efficiency.

The country’s authorities pay special attention to boosting renewables deployment countrywide. In this regard, the number of solar panels installed on buildings and structures of social facilities and economic entities will be expanded.

Back in March 2023, Uzbekneftegaz installed solar panels with a capacity of 50 kW on the rooftop of the administrative building of Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex (the company's subsidiary). The installed panels will produce more than 95,700 kWh of electricity per year.
