BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Uzbekistan’s imports from Lithuania increased almost three-fold, reaching $146 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports, citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
At the same time, the exports from Uzbekistan to Lithuania in the reporting period amounted to $55.8 million, which is almost 5.5 times more than in 2M2022 ($7.5 million).
Uzbekistan and Lithuania increased the bilateral trade turnover by more than 2.5 times from January through February 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, from $63.3 million up to $160.5 million.
Statistics say that Lithuania imported from Uzbekistan some 500,000 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $1 million.
In 2022, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Lithuania decreased by 6.01 percent, compared to 2021 ($505.4 million) - down to $475 million.
Meanwhile, from January through February 2023 Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).
