BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. Uzbekistan and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) discussed issues of budget support, modernization of energy and transport infrastructure, Trend reports.
These issues were discussed between the Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Sherzod Kudbiev, the head of JICA in the country Bito Yoshibumi and the former head of this representative office Miyazaki Suguru.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the financing of the developing mortgage market through demographic dividends and the organization of work in such areas as the creation of new jobs.
Bito Yoshibumi noted that when attracting loans, an important factor is the country's ability to repay debt, while adding that Uzbekistan has a properly established mechanism for repayment of loans.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to support joint projects and make extensive use of new opportunities.
